About Us

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to reduce stigma and enhance the recovery community in Monroe County by raising awareness through three core activities: education, recovery support services, and policy and advocacy activities.

OUR VISION

We envision a community that encompasses and honors all pathways of recovery and promotes the quality of recovery. It is our vision that anyone in need can access the full spectrum of recovery-related services.

WHO WE ARE

RAW (Recovery Advocacy Warriors) is a 501c3 non-profit organization established independently in 2023. RAW is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) that focuses on reducing stigma and enhancing the recovery community in Monroe County. We do this by raising awareness through three core activities: education, recovery support services, and policy and advocacy activities.

Although established as an independent entity in 2023, RAW has been in operation since 2018. A group of individuals from our local recovery community formed and collaborated to help increase recovery in Monroe. With the help of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan, RAW began as a program model housed under their umbrella of services.

Since 2018, RAW has grown exponentially and is now an independent non-profit led and governed by individuals in recovery. RAW is a proud a member of ARCO (Association of Recovery Community Organizations) since 2020.

WHAT WE DO

We bridge the gaps between treatment, recovery, and community.

RAW offers a variety of weekly, monthly, and annual activities and events that support and honor all pathways of recovery.

We offer educational opportunities to individuals and community partners to help elevate recovery in our community.
